When I first started reading Castaneda, I noticed that he used words very specifically. Castaneda remains consistent with unique terms insofar as certain phrases appear to be synonymous, used interchangeably to illustrate a story when, in fact, they are very specific concepts, that when understood, propel me forward.
‘Internal dialogue’ is different than ‘inner silence’. ‘Self-importance’ is not the same as ‘Self-reflection’. There’s a distinction between ‘Will’ and ‘Intent’.
It is the consistent use of phrasing that makes me wonder what is at the heart of his efforts. I am still trying to understand the concepts so I can have a reasonable, all-encompassing practice. Otherwise, I feel as though I am shooting from the hip.
