The Four Moods of Stalking, also called the Four Steps of Stalking are eluded to in some places and elucidated in others. Here I have gathered a few pertinent quotes.
I am trying to embody the four moods of Stalking (Silence, 67-68) where:
- Ruthlessness should not be harsh.
- Cunning should not be cruelty.
- Patience should not be negligence.
- Sweetness should not be foolishness.
These four steps should be practiced until so smooth they are unnoticeable.
- Be ruthless but charming.
- Be cunning but nice.
- Be patient but active.
- Be sweet but lethal.
It can be said that it is important to do the following (Silence, 110):
- Have the courage to be ruthless without being self-important.
- Be cunning without being conceited.
- Be patient, yet take action.
- Be acquiescent without being stupid.

There’s a whole chapter in The Power of Silence dedicated to the topic of “The Four Moods of Stalking” (60).
