Apply Concentration to Deciding

The third principle of stalking, apply concentration to deciding, is a very full step and an opportunity to align yourself with your intent. This is where, after having oriented yourself to the problem at hand and discarding everything that is a distraction, you ensure all parts of yourself are on board with the decision you are about to commit yourself to.

You may find that in discarding items that you further defined and refined not only your problem, but your resolve. If you found it hard or impossible to discard some items, you may have to rethink the opportunity at hand — can you commit to it? Are you ready? Putting things aside you may find yourself very emotional. This energetic baggage may be hard to put aside, but it can be a liberating process. Ask yourself if this is fear of change.

You may know this is a positive change in your life, like learning how to manage your money, quit drinking, or otherwise changing something large in your life. You may be pondering a business endeavor. It is important to recall here the four moods of stalking, where you don’t act based on cruelty, harshness, negligence, or foolishness. You don’t want to be self-important, conceited, or stupid either. You don’t want to invite into your life more problems that you already have or discard something important simply because you are “cleaning house”.
